St Nicholas Bugle October 2024

Dear Brethren

Welcome to the October 2024 edition of the St. Nicholas Bugle. Autumn seems to have arrived early this year and the warm jumpers and coats have made an unexpectedly early appearance.

October is always a busy month in the Masonic calendar with the resumption of Royal Arch Chapter and other side orders, however we were delighted to receive 13 visitors from 5 different lodges including a visitor from Grimsby in the Province of Lincolnshire.

An initiation is always a special occasion as we welcome our newest member Daniel Watson, a Company Director of a precision engineering company from Snainton. Bro. Daniel, who conducted himself admirably was given an excellent ceremony led by the Worshipful Master, Roger Kaye. The deacons were excellent (especially the Junior Deacon Bro. Nev Chambers), and the entrusting was given by W. Bro John White which has been the first time he has done this in St Nicholas Lodge for a considerably amount of time!

The Northeast Corner was skilfully delivered by our Inner Guard, Bro Tony Luddon and the Working Tools by the Junior Warden himself (and at short notice it should be noted) by Bro. Alastair Yeomans.

The ancient charge was given by W. Bro Jamie Wallis to finish off a great ceremony.

At the festive board the brethren and the visitors enjoyed an enjoyable meal and were in good voice for the entered apprentice song, with the adamantine chain explanation given by W. Bro Chris Blackman. A great evening and a very warm welcome to our new made Brother, Bro Daniel Watson.
